Plan my trip

Tell us what you drink. We'll do the rest.

Two minutes to fill in. We reply within two business days with a first draft, day by day, and a quote. There is no fee to ask and nothing to buy on this page.

How it works

  1. You tell us where, when, who, and what you drink.
  2. We write the itinerary from the places in our guides — the ones we've eaten at, tasted through and slept in — and send a draft with a quote.
  3. You say yes, change things, or walk away.
  4. We book every tasting, table and room in your name and send one document with everything in it.
What do you want us to do? Tick everything that applies.

We only use this to plan your trip. No newsletter unless you ask for it.

  • Langoustine with leeks and herbs in a light broth, a course at La Mère Brazier, Lyon

    Eat

Every dinner reserved before you land, from the bouchon to the three-star. We know which tables are worth the wait and which aren't.

  • Lamplit rows of oak barrels under the arched ceiling of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte cellar

    Sip

Tastings chosen for the wine and for the room, booked and timed so nobody watches the clock — including the estates that don't take walk-ins.

  • The columned indoor pool at Villa Maïa glowing turquoise beneath a slatted ceiling, Lyon

    Stay

One hotel per region, sometimes two, always somewhere we've slept. Walkable to dinner where the town allows it.

Questions people ask

What does it cost?

Asking is free, and so is the first draft. If you go ahead we quote the whole trip as one price — hotel, tastings, dinners and any driver — and you pay the places directly or through us, whichever the booking needs. We tell you which before anything is charged.

Do you only do whole trips?

No. If you already have the hotel and just want three winery visits set up for a Saturday, say so. If you want a dinner reservation we can get and you can't, say that too.

Which regions?

The ones in our guides: nine in California, six in France, and Georgia. If you want somewhere else, ask — we'll tell you honestly whether we know it well enough to plan it.

How far ahead should I ask?

Six to eight weeks is comfortable for California, longer for France in harvest season or anything involving a starred table. We've turned trips around in a fortnight; the hotel is usually the thing that runs out.
